LIFE IN PINK

I was really lucky to receive a wonderful bag from Lodinatt. It arrived surprisingly fast, and I've been using it every day since I got it. I'm so excited! This is the first time I can say "Bag courtesy of..."! When I started the blog, I had no idea this would happen... and so fast!
The first pictures were taken Wednesday by Eloise. Those are the pants I couldn't wait to take off 'cause it was so hot outside. Since I slept over at her house, I had the same pants the next day, but once I got home, I changed into my new skirt. Perfect. 100% perfect. Sometimes I can't believe people will spend thousands of dollars/euros for a piece of clothing when you can get the most amazing skirt... for 5 euros.
The second pictures were taken last night by my mom right before we went to Matsuri to eat delicious sushi.

I really love having this bag. It has a sort of "secret place" on the bottom where you can put things - I think shoes would fit perfectly, but I've been using it for things that always get in the way when I'm looking inside a bag. Like the clothes, toothbrush, etc for the sleepover at Eloise's. However, next time I'm wearing heels, I'll totally take a pair of flats so I can change into them if my feet hurt! You can get the bag here if you want! They have different colors. I'm totally in love with their Laptop Bag too. It's red and amazing! You can buy the bags from wherever you are in the world using paypal.

You guys know how much I love James' blog Bleubird, and I once saw this "What's in muh bag" post she did... I thought I'd do that with my new bag! It may be the last time I do it though because other than the top, CDs and DVD you see, that's pretty much what I take with me... all the time.
In my bag... Camera lens, cellphone, iPod, Book (Oscar Wilde), Songwriting book, Journal, Rouge Baiser lipstick, chapstick, pen, sunglasses, Audrey Hepburn make-up bag, Owl wallet. The CDs and DVDs were Apolline's, I gave them back to her.

That's all. Thanks Lodinatt for the lovely gift!

See that? I just bought it yesterday! It doesn't require much water, so that's great. I plan to get more in the future! So excited!

PARIS LIFE

IMG_7368

Summertime is definitely here. I just got home, about an hour ago, and the first thing I did was take off my pants. It's so hot... I really don't like this kind of heat. Yes, I love cold weather, but I do also like warm weather. I like being able to walk around with a tank top and feel warm and nice. I like a cool breeze that is just right, that makes you feel nice, even though the weather isn't that bad. But if I'm not on the beach, then I don't like the unbearable sweaty heat. The heat that makes you tired, the heat that makes you feel sticky and gross, the heat that makes you want to take all your clothes off but you can't because you're not a nudist, and neither is the city of Paris.

To be honest, I'm doing surprisingly well! I did not know I had such a wonderful ability to stop myself from thinking certain things I don't want to be thinking about. It's going great. I'm actually looking forward to going to Dublin on July 12. I'm going for two weeks. I've no idea what I'm going to do, but I'm thinking of it as a two week songwriting camp. Ideally, I'd like to get up early, go to the park and write songs... Maybe I'll get to play a couple songs in pubs like last time. If I do, I'll try to let Irish readers know. Lots of walking, I imagine. Shopping at Penneys, obviously!!! That store is awesome.

I was going to share some pictures but I can't... I have to do something about iPhoto. It's driving me insane. So slow... When I import pictures, all the portrait ones are turning out black. By editing them, they go back to the normal picture, but it's stupid iPhoto's fault. So instead, I'll post the pictures tomorrow. I can't wait to show you the bag Lodinatt sent me! It's lovely. I also have a music GIVEAWAY for you soon. Stay tuned...

*UPDATE: Totally forgot to tell you... Today, Eloise and I went to this area where they have a bunch of pet shops. VERY dangerous place to take me. Do you know how many puppies and kittens they have??! I now want two different kinds of cats, and a zillion dogs. I actually wrote their names down (french names, same in English?): Carlin (ahaha squishy face, love it), Jack Russell (oh my god, the tiniest Jack Russell was in a cage by himself and I just wanted to stay there and play with him forever... Can someone give me 750 euros so I can take him home?), Golden Retriever (I feel like saying: 'duh', these dogs are beautiful and so friendly), English Cocker Spaniel, Beagle, Irish Red and White Setter (ummm... yes, you know why), German Shepherd, Rottweiler (I don't know... I've wanted one since I was eight. I think it's just a dream), Chocolate labrador. So, that's... nine dogs. Who wants to live with me and my nine dogs? And two cats. Don't take that away from me. Can we also get a turtle?

GREEN VELVET

Hello folks,

So, I won't be blogging every single day for a while, but I will be on enough, don't worry!

I love these shoes! It's been raining on and off here in Paris, and the sky is mostly grey so I was afraid to wear the velvet shoes. Hello, you're witnessing the first time I've ever worn those shoes! Are they not beautiful? They were on sale last Christmas, and I needed them...
The pictures were in fact taken two different days, as you can see, but it's the same skirt. I bought it at a wonderful little thrift store in Paris for 5 euros. Can you believe it? Amazing! I also got a skirt for 1 euro, and a top for 1 euro. Again, can you believe it? I can't wait to go back.

MUSIC FOR THE SOUL

IMG_7113

I'm hanging in there. I saw my friend Apolline again today. We made some videos... So I wanted to let you know that tomorrow you can check out my YouTube page to listen to two of my new songs. Haunted, written yesterday, and The Violin Song written a couple months ago. The title used to be End of the Story, but I hated that title and literally couldn't even remember it. I like when titles come naturally to me, like 6000 miles and Haunted. I'm still not a fan of the title Bored NowThe Violin Song is supposed to have violin (duh), but I've no friends who play the violin here, so what am I to do? One day you'll hear it with the violin and hopefully love it. I'm a BIG fan of the song played w/ the violin. We did it back in the US, and I thought the violin added something amaaazing.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know what's coming. You can still visit the page, there are loads of songs already.

BREAK

Screen Shot 2012-06-21 at 2.00.50 PM

Sorry, but I'm taking a little break from the blog. My mother once told me that if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. I feel like quotes always make people feel better when they're sad. Don't you agree? I wonder what I'll gain... probably a lot of strength.

WELCOME & REMINDER

IMG_6189

Hey everyone! I'm really excited. I've been getting some requests from people who want to be involved with my blog, from people who want to send me things for me to review... I've also noticed a lot of new readers lately, and I'm so happy! Keep leaving comments, I read them all!

So, first, I'd like to welcome all new readers: Hi, I'm so happy you're here!

Second, I'd like to remind businesses & bloggers that you can definitely contact me if you're interested in sending something for me to review or wear (clothing, make-up, accessories)... I can definitely include items in my Outfit posts (as long as they go with my personal style!). You can go through my past outfits hereIf you want to sponsor my blog, let me know. We can do something about it. I also accept giveaways - So fun! Since I'm a musician, I'd love to help out other musicians, and one of my ideas is a CD giveaway.

Any other ideas? Let me know!

BLUE VALENTINE

IMG_6880

I'm so happy to be able to show you one of my new thrifted skirts!
What do you think?
I think I love it even more than when I bought it.

IMG_6879 IMG_6883 IMG_6884 IMG_6886IMG_6906 IMG_6907 IMG_6913 IMG_6908

Isn't that a beautiful pattern? I absolutely love it. These pictures make me smile! By the way, yes, my hair is not as blue these days. I'm waiting till July to dye it. The color isn't completely gone and it doesn't bother me, so I'll just leave it for now. Jerome Russell's Punky Hair Color is really really good. It worked on my hair, while Manic Panic unfortunately did not. I really love my turquoise highlights, but sometimes I want to have pink highlights... and purple... It's so fun! I do hate when people look at me and ask: "Why would you do that to your hair?" Are you kidding? Am I asking you why you picked those clothes or why you decided to do this or that? No... So please, respect my decision to have turquoise highlights :)

The pictures above were taken by my mom! She's one of the best, haha. I usually ask friends and family to take these outfit pictures because, unlike Delightfully Tacky, I don't have a tripod (though I really should get one! VERY useful). My mom is really good at taking these pictures because she follows the advice I give her. I've been going through many blogs, and know what kind of pictures I want. My first piece of advice is don't stop taking pictures. It's a digital camera, I will probably delete most pictures, but end up with enough for the blog!

Right after the little photo shoot, we went for lunch at one of our favorite places! The deliiicious Fuxia restaurant. It's right next to her work place.

IMG_6926 IMG_6928

The last thing on the list – Penne Pastore – is what I ate (picture below) and what I eat almost every time we go to Fuxia. It's absolutely PERFECT. I'd love to try to make it at home... My other favorite Fuxia dish is the Lemon Escalope... Ah, so delicious! I definitely recommend Fuxia. Plus, the servers are really nice! My mom had today's special: Seafood pasta. Yummy too!
